Become Sponsoring Employer in the Scholar Internship/Clerkship Program
The Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholar Program invites law firms, corporations, government agencies, and other organizations to serve as Sponsoring Employers in our Scholar Internship/Clerkship Program.
This program is designed to identify and promote meaningful internship and clerkship opportunities for Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholars—diverse and highly motivated law students exploring careers in patent law. We focus particularly on securing summer internships for 1L and 2L students who are committed to advancing diversity within the profession.
If your organization is interested in becoming a Sponsoring Employer, please complete the form below or contact us at Info@DiversityInIPLaw.org for more information.
How the Program Works
-
Participating Sponsoring Employers will have access to Scholar resumes and may select candidates for interviews.
-
The Foundation can help coordinate screening interviews, upon request, or employers may proceed using their own standard hiring process.
-
All hiring decisions are made solely by the Sponsoring Employer, and internship terms and conditions are determined directly between the employer and the selected Scholar.
There is no obligation to hire any candidate interviewed, and participation in the program does not imply a commitment to future employment.
The Foundation’s goal is to facilitate connections between our Scholars and forward-thinking employers committed to fostering diversity and excellence in the patent law profession.
